Agenda-21- what are its implications

While it's being debated whether UN’s agenda-21 is real or not, there are shoe-box size apartments being offered to the population at large in the United States, New York and Boston are already trying out the new homes while San Francisco’s board of supervisors is considering a revision of the city’s building code to allow for the cramped new living spaces.
If approval comes the new minimum housing requirements will drop to a mere 220 sqft from 290sq ft. For perspective’s sake, we can take a school bus to have an area of 250 sq ft. A person’s entire micro apartment would fit in the school bus, taking into account the bathroom, kitchen, and closet included. This vision of a secluded austere life is hardly capable of accommodating one person let alone a spouse, children or pets.
The idea behind this kind of housing is to dissuade people from owning cars and rather opt for bicycles and use mass public transport. However, opponents of agenda-21 have said that the above move could spike the population density, cramp up community spaces and strain the public transport system.
The question remains whether anyone would live in such cramped spaces if it was for the benefit of earth. The very idea of Agenda-21 is to free up resources and space for nature to replenish but the ones who see the conspiracy in it say that concentrating growth and density in urban areas is one the main tenets of agenda-21. Many have reiterated that initial developments of agenda-21 are not alarming especially for people in cities like New York and San Francisco where people already put in pretty cramped spaces on an average. However there is the fact that building jail-size accommodation was never intended to be limited to big cities- this is only the beginning.
This may affect the real estate companies and builders and developers in Mangalore at a major level.

Micro-apartments can be hazardous to mental health

Living in a micro-apartment in New York can be more than just cramped up, it can also be a major setback to your mental health. Inspite of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s endorsements of the micro-unit, some experts contend the fact that living in 250 to 370 feet spaces can be a health hazard. “Sure, these micro-apartments may be fantastic for young professionals in their 20s,” says DakKopec who happens to be director of design for human health at Boston Architectural College, told the Atlantic. “But they can definitely not be a good option for those in their 30s and 40s who encounter different stress factors that can make living in micro apartments a problem.”

Mr Kopec asserts that the space saving trends of micro-apartments can lead to claustrophobia, domestic abuse, and alcoholism. In addition to this, researchers believe that children need big spaces to grow up properly.

Susan Saegert, director of the Housing Environments Research Group, has studied children in low income housing and crowded apartments a lot. She has arrived on the conclusion that children who live in tight quarters develop low concentration and bad memory alongwith a withdrawn demeanour.

Ms Saegert said that living in tight quarters can have a far more devastating effect on the young psyche than on the elders. Questions over the dangers of living in micro-apartments have surfaced time and again. This recent study comes just in time when a residential tower of Micro-units has been unveiled in New York. Conspiracy theorists have linked this new trend with Agenda 21.

The theorists believe that the micro-apartments are in reality mini- prisons that serve to stack up the population and exploit them. It is believed that children growing up in micro-apartment environment are docile and are easier to control and will be likely to take up jobs that require significant amount of mental activity, readying up an army of slaves for the establishment.

Getting inspired from the western countries like for example New York, India is also developing micro-apartments in different parts of the country, Apartments in Mangalore are getting converted into micro apartments by the real estate companies so as to adjust more people in less space.

Whatever be the reason for this type of development, it is intuitively understood by humans that cramped spaces are not healthy living spaces and should be denounced to the fullest extent possible.
